Our Approach: Warm, Welcoming, Caring

Our Approach

While there are some basic premises for skillfully practicing Psychotherapy, it is not a one size fits all way of working. An approach that will work well with one person may not be effective with the next, and so on. That’s why it is important to be flexible when attempting to help someone deepen their connection to themselves, become more conscious of their way of making sense of the world, and empower them to make the changes that will enrich their life. When working with someone I try and hear what they share with me from a biopsychosocial model of understanding. That means I listen for the possible biological, psychological, and social interaction implications of what they tell me. I try to understand how genetic predisposition, what’s been internalized growing up, and how patterns of relating all intersect to create the symptoms reported. It has been my experience that as someone deepens there connection and insight into their inner world, their capacity to be effective increases, and they start to heal and grow.
